This workshop will explore the key phases of cohousing development, including organizing a founding group, assessing feasibility, securing funding, establishing legal and financial structures, navigating design and construction, and occupancy. Participants will gain a practical understanding of timelines, decision-making, risk, and the roles of residents, consultants, developers, and public agencies. Participants will leave with a roadmap of the development process, greater confidence in navigating next steps, and a clearer understanding of the partnerships and commitments needed to transform a shared vision into a built community.
